Today’s modern fishing rods have features incorporated into them that are not typical of the original primitive cane pole. Most modern makes contain reels, which aid in the retrieval of the fighting fish looking to shake free. A spinning rod is an entirely different and far more technically advanced piece of hardware. The shaft and handle are very cleverly designed so that they can rotate around each other to give a high amount of flexibility when trying to land a fish struggling fiercely. Similar to the standard cane type it also tapers from a narrow tip down to a thick base at the handle. This is by far a superior but still simple design giving excellent control and manoeuvrability.

Another problem is if the lures are constantly moved around the fish won’t go near them. Jiggler rods are designed to deal with this type of fishing and cope with the longer and heavier lines required for this type of deep fishing mainly for the likes of cod and often as a salmon fishing rod. They are made from composite material like and are very strong and heavier than other types of rods.
